Automated blind control at The Levels, Cambridge

Automated Blinds at The LevelsThe penthouse apartments in 'The Levels' development in Cambridge were equipped with a smart scene-based lighting control system, with the option for the tenants to extend the system to their specification once they'd moved in.

Baulogic has been delighted to work recently with one of the tenants at The Levels to extend their intelligent C-Bus system to control Luxaflex vertical blinds in every window of their apartment.

The blinds in each room can now be opened and closed by simply pressing a button on the wall or on a universal remote control. The system has been programmed to allow all of the blinds in the living room to be controlled from a single button, and for all of the blinds in the apartment to be opened or closed from the main entrance. Each blind can be fully opened or fully closed, or tilted in the closed position to allow light to enter.

In addition, the basic control program that was installed by the developer has been significantly extended by Baulogic to provide features such as light scene control - allowing the residents to press a button on the touch screen to dim the lights to preset levels to suit various activities such as watching TV, playing computer games, reading a book, cooking or having a dinner party.

The owner, Dan Foster, says: "Thanks to the specialist skills of Baulogic, I am now able to experience the level of ultra-modern living for which my apartment was designed. Baulogic has been able to unlock the full potential of the C-Bus system to control every aspect of my apartment's conditions at the touch of a button or via a programmed schedule. My apartment literally 'lives' while I am away. Baulogic has been by far the most reliable contractor that I've worked with on this project to date."

Baulogic's Managing Director, Mark Gedrych, commented: "Due to the flexibility of the C-Bus system, it was possible to vastly improve convenience for Dan and Emma by simply installing a more comprehensive control program into the touch screen without any modifications to the apartment's electrical wiring".
